What is the difference between chemical reaction and chemical equation?

A chemical reaction is a process where a set of reactants are converted into a set of products. A chemical equation is a written representation of a chemical reaction.

Example – 

Chemical Reaction: The reaction between hydrogen and oxygen to produce water. 

Chemical Equation: 2H₂ + O₂ → 2H₂O
